FLASHBACK: Hon.
Mulabah (l) confers
with QGMA Prez.
Seama Sheriff |
|
In the months that have
passed since we met in
Philadelphia in 2007 to
elect our Able and Dynamic
President Seama Sheriff, I
have not changed my mind
about what I said when I
delivered a speech on
education for Quardu-Gboni.
I then said that there was a
need for QGMA, our
association, to establish an
internet café in Monrovia,
Liberia. I also envisioned
that one day, our District,
Quardu-Gboni, will have its
own technical institution to
be called the Quradu-Gboni
Institute of Technology.
Since then, Quardu-Gboni has
gained a district status.
This has added impetus to
our vision. We can now
expand this vision to
include the establishment of
two vocational institutions:
one in Quardu, one in Gboni
and then the establishment
of the Quardu-Gboni
Institute of Technology in
the central capital of
Gbaygbaydu.
I am aware that the
establishment of these
vocational and technical
institutions will require
the input and support of the
Liberian Government but we
who hail from this district
must be in the forefront to
identify and make known our
visions and aspirations. The
beneficiaries of these
institutions will be our
brothers and sisters from
Borlonkolliedu to
Saokonnehdu, Marvinkonnehdu,
Gbaygaydu, Mamiekonnehdu,
Nyamakamahdu, Sanzannor,
Jarmulor, Tusu, just to name
a few of our great towns!
I therefore urge every one
of us who hail from
Quardu-Gboni District to do
all we can to make the
vision of the establishment
of these institutions in our
district a reality. For now,
the vision should be
considered as a blue print
but it should be regarded as
a blue print that will one
day become a reality!!
