The cycle of violent remains
a major issue in post war Liberia. The
most recent victim is our own brother and a son
of Quardu Gboni, Sekou Fofana. Mr. Fofana, a
Taxi driver was allegedly mobbed by the Liberian
Musician and his friends, causing excessive
bleeding and subsequent death. To sympathize
with the bereave family, please call Mr. Sekou
Kanneh of New Jersey,
United States of America@ (609)-357-8482.
Elders
of Quardu-Gboni Have Spoken
January 24, 2010 By: Faliku Konneh
Today, elders of Quardu-Gboni residing in the
United States of America held a meeting with the
leadership of the Quardu-Gboni Mandingo
Association in the Americas (QGMAA). In
several remarks, the elders admonished the new
leadership to strive by all means to stay in
touch with the general membership of the
association. They also called on the
leadership to maintain contact with the
leadership of the mother organization in
Liberia, because, they believe, that is the best
way to remain informed about developments in the Quardu-Gboni District.
Meanwhile, President Mohamed Jangai Kanneh has
constituted a seven-member District
Council that will liaise with the District
Commissioner and the leadership of the mother
chapter in Liberia on the affairs of the
district.

President Mohamed Jangai
Kanneh
President Kanneh has warned land-grabbers in
Liberia to stay away from the Quardu-Gboni
District. In a strongly worded position
statement issued today, the President said his
Administration has received disturbing reports
from Liberia that some unscrupulous individuals are
encouraging scam investors to exploit unwary
farmers of the District by trying to acquire
their farmlands from them under dubious
circumstances. He said while QGMAA encourages
investment in the District, potential investors
must go through the proper administrative
procedures and be very clear about their
intentions.
